The big break for Prabhas came when he starred in 2015 Baahubali: The Beginning, which became the highest-grossing film in India, third highest-grossing Indian film worldwide, and highest-grossing South Indian film, at the time of its release. In 2014, he made a special appearance in Hindi movie Action Jackson, which had featured Ajay Devgn in dual roles, alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Yami Gautam and Manasvi Mamgai as the female leads. In 2013, Prabhas acted in action movie Mirchi, which, along with being one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of that year, also earned him the Nandi Award for Best Actor and also a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu.
He was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu for the former. Perfect with actresses Kajal Agarwal and Taapsee Pannu playing his love interests, and the following year in movie Rebel. The movie was not only a blockbuster at the box-office, it also earned Prabhas a CineMaa Award for Best Actor (Jury). The next year, he starred in Telegu movie Darling opposite actress Kajal Aggarwal. The movie, which also starred Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead, had received mixed reviews from critics, but that did not stop viewers from loving it, and it did well at the box office in its first week. In 2009, Prabhas acted in two movies, Billa and Ek Niranjan, and was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu for the latter. In 2007 he acted in Yogi and Munna, and in 2008 he starred in Bujjigadu alongside Trisha Krishnan and Sanjjanaa. The following year, he starred in Pournami alongside Trisha, Charmy, Sindhu Tolani and Rahul Dev. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the movie also starred Shriya Saran in the lead and it was a huge success at the box office. In 2005, he starred in two movies, Chakram and Chhatrapati, and was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu for the latter. He was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor - Telugu for Varsham, which had also starred actors Trisha Krishnan and Gopichand in lead roles. Prabhas then went on to star in 2003 Telegu movie Raghavendra along with Anshu and Shweta Agarwal, and in 2004 in Varsham and Adavi Ramudu. He made his acting debut in 2002 with movie Eeswar alongside Tamil actress Sridevi Vijaykumar, but it did not fare well at the box office.
